Where can I
study?
The Nevada Adult Education system provides
numerous opportunities for adult students to study for the tests of GED. Many
Nevada college and literacy agencies offer GED preparation classes. If you
prefer to study on your own, books are available at bookstores and your local
library. Practice tests and other resources are available on the Internet.
Public television stations (PBS) also offer GED classes on television, although
many of these are given in early morning hours and you may wish to tape them for
viewing at your convenience

What can I
expect?
Your education provider will work with you to
create a study plan. You will probably be asked to take one or more assessment
tests. One of these tests may be a practice GED test. The assessment will
determine what your strengths and weaknesses are, so you can concentrate your
efforts where they are needed most. Depending on your study plan and the
learning center's resources, you may attend regular classes, work one-on-one
with a tutor, attend workshops and/or work online.
How much does it
cost to study?
State-sponsored and school district-sponsored
educational programs are generally provided free of charge. You may incur some
expense for study materials and supplies. Private organizations and some
community programs may charge for their services, so be sure to ask.
There is a fee to take the actual GED tests,
